Charity Efforts Are For Happiness
Sustainable Community Development Kenya (SCD) is a non-governmental organization that was established in 2024, with the aim of alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable development in Kenya. However, before formal registration, we have been engaged in different activities transforming lives.
SCD-Kenya operates on a not-for-profit basis and is funded by various local and international partners. Our work is guided by a commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration with community stakeholders. SCD-Kenya works closely with regional intergovernmental organizations, national & county Governments, the private sector and communities
Objectives
Our Objectives
- To support initiatives that encourage continuous learning and educational opportunities for all.
- To promote skills and talent development to empower youth for better employment prospects.
- To facilitate income-generating activities to improve economic opportunities for individuals and communities.
- To support entrepreneurship initiatives and small-scale businesses.
- To implement sustainable agricultural practices for food security
- To promote accessibility to basic and quality primary health care.
- To promote mental health and psychosocial support.
- To promote accessibility to technology for the youth.
- To implement initiatives towards mitigating climate change.
- To take such steps by personal or written appeals, private meetings, public meetings or representations to Parliament, government entities and other bodies as may be deemed expedient to promote any of the objects of the Organization.
- To raise, secure and utilise funds for the attainment of any or all objects of the Organization, and to do such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these objects.
Our Future Directions
As we move forward, we are committed to leveraging our core expertise while adapting our strategies to meet emerging challenges. Our focus will include harnessing the potential of digitalization, supporting low-carbon agricultural initiatives, addressing food security issues, and promoting inclusive economic growth. We aim to deliver large-scale job creation, poverty reduction, food security and enhanced economic growth.
